Sobriety Circle and Triangle Symbolism - This symbol is used by both magicians and members of Alcoholics Anonymous. For the magician the triangle is a place to hold the summoned spirit. For the AA member it is a symbol of the integration of personality -- The equilateral triangle represents the three part answer - unity, recovery and service to a three part disease - physical, mental and spiritual, while the circle represents wholeness or oneness.
The Water Glyph - A VERY Appropriate Glyph for those Battling Alcoholism -- Water is an element associated with, among others : Life, Purification, Reflection, the Subconscious and Transformation. In the Wiccan tradition the element of water is association with the Watchtower of the West -- the quarter of the element that deals with : Creativity, Emotions, Fertility, and Courage to Face One's Deepest Feelings.
