Some More Info About the Gemstone : Turquoise Beads - One of the main compounds of Turquoise gemstone beads is copper. This is what gives it the blue, green, blueish-green colors. Genuine, naturally occurring Turquoise is quite expensive and getting rarer every day as known mines are mined out and closed. In fact, only about 15-percent of the once prolific Turquoise mines are still in operation the American Southwest. Most in our area (Arizona) are only pulling out very light colored turquoise -- nearly all are now stabilized.

Sacred to both Native American and Oriental traditions, Turquoise helps to connect with spirit and brings the energy of the sky down to earth. In the world of crystal healing, Turquoise is used as stone of communication. New Age healers recommend it for people who have a fear of public speaking. It is said to impart the ability to make a speaker more eloquent, loving, creative and honest... improves the mental state overall by increasing all of the following positive mental characteristics: serenity, creativity, empathy, positive thinking, sensitivity, intuition, happiness & wisdom -- all of which result in a calmer state that leads to greater self-realization. Turquoise is also considered a stone of friendship.
