Carnelian Beads
Carnelian Beads | Cornelian Beads. Carnelian (also sometimes referred to as Cornelian) is found primarily in India, as well as various sites in South America. Carnelian is a translucent orange to red to brown form of Chalcedony. It is frequently a banded material with bands of red to orange chalcedony alternating with bands of white agate. In Ancient Egypt, Carnelian was associated with the heart, and the resurrection of mummies. In the Middle Ages, it was used for protection against nightmares, mind-readers, and lightning. Today, Carnelian is often used by crystal healers for reproductive issues, and is believed to improve ones more 'amorous' (carnal) side.
