Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. Glass Butte Obsidian, Lassen Creek Obsidian and Davis Creek Obsidian are considered the best Obsidian from the US. This type of Black Obsidian contains whisps of oxidized iron that is reddish-brown to deep orange-yellow in color -- Hold this slab up to light and lovely patterns will emerge!
Metaphysically, Mahogany Obsidian is considered a stone of strength and provides it in times of need.
