Turritella Agate is a brown to earthy black, translucent, stone with fossil inclusions. This organic gem material was incorrectly named decades ago when the 'christener' thought that the eye-catching spiral-shaped gastropod snail fossils entombed within were members of the marine Turritella genus. That was a mistake. Instead, the fossils are of the freshwater snail, Elimia tenera. Therefore, this stone is sometimes referred to as Elimia Agate.
Metaphysically, as with all fossils, Turritella is deeply connected with Earth energies and strongly associated with personal roots and ancestry (a Record Keeper Stone) connected with survival instincts. Considered useful when in need of strength and protection (a survival stone). Chakra(s) : All, but esp. Root/Base.
