Sekhmet Symbolism / Sekhmet FolkLore - Sekhmet was the lioness-headed goddess of the sun, war, destruction and healing. She is one of the oldest deities and one of the most powerful. Together the twin sisters formed the 'Yin-Yang' of Egyptian religion. Bastet being the creative force and Sekhmet being the destructive force. Sekhmet is the Goddess of the West and Her sacred color is red.
