Apache Warpaint Dolomite is also called Desert Rose Dendritic Dolomite and is from Morenci, AZ. Its pattering and colors of the stone reminded the miner of "war paint" since Native Americans, namely the Apache, are near this area of mining. “Apache Warpaint” (also called : Desert Rose Dolomite) is a Dolomite Jasper from Morenci, AZ with yellow, orange, and red tones - naturally colored by iron and copper. Many pieces also have interesting manganese dendrites. Dolomite is a sedimentary carbonate rock that is both a mineral and a rock. It is named for the French mineralogist, Deodat de Dolomieu. Dolomite a good beginners stone as it's fairly soft, but easily takes a lovely polish.

Metaphysically Dolomite is said to be good for relieving depression or sorrow, helping one to detach from 'drama'.
