Called the "King of Oils" (Rose is the Queen), Jasmine
Essential Oil has been famous since the earliest days as an aphrodisiac.
Jasmine is called "Moonlight of the Grove" by Hindus,
and is one of the most expensive and desirable precious oils used
today. Jasmine essential oil, like Neroli, is very costly because
of the enormous quantity of flowers needed to produce a very small
amount of oil. It takes 8,000 carefully hand-picked blossoms to
produce 1 gram (about 1 ml.) of Jasmine Absolute. The labor costs
are also pushed up because the flowers can only be gathered at
night.
Aromatic Description: Intense, sweet floral.
Aromatherapeutic Uses: Relaxing, intoxicating, warming. Great
aphrodisiac. Helps one find restful sleep. Jasmine has a long
tradition of being used in childbirth as a relaxing and supportive
