He set his animals upon her and she called for protection. Diana turned her into a pure white gem to save her. Feeling shame Bacchus poured wine upon her, turning the lovely maiden, Amethyst, a beautiful violet purple. Western Astrology associates Amethyst with Aquarius. To Eastern Astrology it is considered a secondary gem of Saturn (ruling Capricorn and Aquarius). Amethyst is an important gemstone in opening the 6th Chakra, or 3rd Eye.
